On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the TDOT Construction Office in Newport released information regarding an upcoming road closure on SR113 in Jefferson County near White Pine. Please refer to the information below for further details.

WHITE PINE, Tenn. – Motorists traveling on State Route 113 (SR 113) in Jefferson County should be aware of upcoming construction activities that will significantly impact traffic.

Beginning Monday, October 13, 2025, SR 113 will be closed approximately 300 feet south of the intersection with Leadvale Road to allow the contractor to construct a new bridge over Eckel Branch. This closure is necessary to facilitate the bridge construction and ensure the safety of both motorists and workers in the area.

During the closure, motorists should utilize the signed detour routes as follows:

  • Northbound SR 113 traffic will be detoured south on SR 113 to I-40 West, then I-81 North at Mile Marker 421, and will exit at Mile Marker 4 to travel south on SR 341 toward White Pine.
  • Southbound SR 113 traffic will be detoured north on SR 113 to SR 341 North, then I-81 South, exiting onto I-40 East at Mile Marker 0, and then back onto SR 113 at Mile Marker 424.

The closure is anticipated to remain in place until December 15, 2025, weather permitting.
