Jefferson County Director of Finance

Jefferson County is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as its next Director of Finance. This position oversees and manages the entire Finance Department, including its employees and day-to-day operations, and is responsible for the County’s financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, financial reporting, grant administration, and compliance with applicable state laws and County policies. The Director of Finance works closely with the County Mayor, Finance Committee, County Commission, School Board, other boards and committees, and County departments to support responsible financial management, maintain accurate records, and ensure public funds are properly managed.

This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package, with a salary range of $80,000–$112,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will have strong financial management, leadership, and employee management skills, including the ability to supervise staff, set expectations, support employee development, and maintain an effective and accountable department. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to explain financial information clearly to elected officials, department heads, boards, committees, other county departments, and staff are required.

Jefferson County Maintenance Garage Technician 1

Jefferson County is accepting applications for a full-time Level 1 Technician position within the County Fleet Maintenance Garage. Under the direction of the Director of Fleet Maintenance, this position performs maintenance and repairs on County vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostics and repairs, performing routine maintenance and inspections, oil and filter changes, tire repair and rotation, replacing filters, wipers, batteries and other parts, as well as shop clean-up, parts pick-up, vehicle transport and other duties as directed.

Qualifications include:

• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have your own tools
• Must successfully pass a drug test and background check
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting, pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds

This position works in a vehicle and equipment maintenance garage and requires the ability to safely work around power tools, moving parts, electrical hazards, chemicals and other occupational hazards.
