Veteran Service Officer Assistant

Jefferson County is seeking a full-time Veteran Service Officer Assistant to support the County Veterans Service Office and assist in representing county veterans within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs system.

Requirements:

  • Honorably discharged veteran (disabled veteran preferred)
  • Knowledge of VA systems and benefits
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Eligibility for VA accreditation
  • General knowledge of pensions, compensation, presumptive conditions, PACT Act, and related benefits
  • Completion of required VA training within 12 months of hire
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FOIA, and confidentiality requirements
