Public Service: December 16th at 5:00 P.M.

Special Called County Commission: December 13th at 6:30 P.M.

Resolution 2021-48 regarding Jefferson County’s participation i the state-subdivision opioid abatement agreement and approving the related settlement agreements.

Approval for a TDOT County Transportation Planning Grant-2022 up to $125,000 with a 10% match.

Finance Committee recommendation regarding salary package for Finance Director.

Resolution 2021-49 to authorize new Finance Director Jessica Elder for wire transfer and signature abilities on December 31st.

Long Range Planning: January 6th at 9:00 A.M.

Budget Committee: January 10th at 5:30 P.M.

County Commission Work Session: January 10th at 6:30 P.M.

County Commission Voting Session: January 18th at 6:30 P.M.

All meetings will be held in the main room of the Jefferson County Historic Courthouse. Located at 202 W. Main St. Dandridge, TN 37725.

Finance Director Langdon Potts Announces Retirement, Jessica Elder Appointed to Position

In late October 2021, Langdon Potts informed the Finance Committee of his plan to retire at the end of the year. Current finance department employee Jessica Elder was appointed by the Finance Committee on Monday, November 22, 2021, as the new Finance Director effective January 1, 2022.

Sanitation Department PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – For the expansion of the existing Class III/Class IV landfill (disposal of construction and demolition debris) operated by Jefferson County Sanitation, 650 Grove Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. The proposed expansion will increase the usable area by approximately 4.5 acres, all within the property currently owned by Jefferson County. Plans for the expansion are available at the address listed above, and information can also be obtained by calling 865-397-3544.

The purpose of the hearing is to collect input and answer questions from the general public regarding the proposed expansion. The hearing will be held at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 202 W. Main Street, Dandridge, TN on December 14, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. local time.

The ARCHIVES will close at 3:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, and  reopen 9:00 Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at 8:30 AM.

TN Dept of Revenue to Send Postcards for Vehicle Registration Renewals

The Department of Revenue released a statement on Monday, December 21, 2020, announcing that instead of the traditonal letters used, the state will use postcards to remind motor vehicle registrants of upcoming renewal dates.

I do strongly encourage all people to consider protecting those people around us. There are ways we can help stop the spread of this virus even without a face covering mandate. We can follow the guidelines already in place. We can take the Governor’s Pledge.”

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced Thursday, July 23, 2020, the State will launch a public service announcement campaign that urges all Tennesseans to fight against the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask. The ad campaign, titled “Face It. Masks Fight COVID-19”, will run on broadcast and cable television, digital, social media, print, and billboards statewide.
